Running Down The Coast

So I decided to take Highway One South from Mendocino to San Francisco It turned out to be a lovely day...

The Basic Shot

Blue sky, blue ocean and a triangle of land at the left. The sun it still at a low angle here.

Point Arena is a broad point and in the triangle of it's area there is some verdant farms.

A lot of the Northern California coastline is pretty abrupt and the distance can be confusing... some of the bluffs are hundreds of feet tall and you really don't realize it until you either walk over to the edge or look back from a few miles further on

Really big. From the ocean all of the way up to the sky! Giant shards... They probably don't looks so huge in the picture, but the rectagular-ish one is over 100 feet... it may not be Half-dome, but it sure isn't sand.

Fence to a Fence to a Fence

I dunno... I just liked these fences.

Shed

An old, rundown Shed that's cultivating some lichen.

An isolated farmhouse with a view

Goat Rock Beach

Rocks in the Ocean

Rocks in the Ocean

This is looking North to Bolinas... it you turn around you can see all of the way to Sutro Tower in San Francisco... but it was a hazy day so I won't include that picture here.

Yes, I went to that spot and took this picture of San Francisco.... Again. But this is on a different day, right? While I was at play, there was a fellow setting up a large format camera to take the same picture. it was a beautiful day to find something to do outside.

Lazy Day Waltz
Apr 23, 2020
It's a lazy waltz from a lazy day. I was intending it to form a different piece but one melody flowed to the next and, before I knew it, what I had intended to be a dance piece became this melodically progressive waltz. I had fun with it, I hope you do too.
Ocean Waves at Molera Point

I'm not a surfer, though perhaps I would like to be. I like the ocean. Every time I drive out to the coast there is that moment of the first smell of it. Sometime, if the wind is just right, you can be fifteen miles away when you sense the first hint of salt and seaweed. And then there is the thrill when you rise over the hill or curl around the bend and are presented with the far-off horizon.
