St Augustine Tower

Henry Flagler built the Ponce de Leon Hotel. It is a massive structure of poured concrete with 540 rooms built in the Spanish Renaissance style. It is now a college. All of the filigree is cast and molded from terra cotta. When it opened in 1888 it was one of the finest and most elegant resorts in the U.S.. It had electric lights that transformed it into a glittering wonderland at night.
