Oh My Ears and Whiskers!

Yikes, more pictures from the past few months. A little Random with no story line.

A clear, crisp March day at the Mendocino Country coast

California Water Station Building

You will find these tidy little California Water station buildings around the state.

Interesting patterns found in the sand on the Oregon Coast

Mendocino Coastline what can I say... it's a mighty beautiful thing to behold.

Playing With My Food Again

The Artichokes looked to fine that day

more interesting patterns in the sand.

Weathered Quartz Veins in Sandstone

In this rock, the stone weathers faster than the quartz veins.

What can I say?, I sure enjoyed walking along the Morrow Bay Beach at sunset

Interesting weathering on this bit of Sandstone.

Weathered Ocean Stone

on this bit of rock, the veins weathered before the stone

In the Sierra Foothills East of Redding you will find miles of these stone "fences." Nicely stacked. aout 30 inches tall and about 4-feet wide. some of those rocks at the base are mighty big.

And less then a mile from the parched, dry foothills east of Redding, you cross a bridge over the Sacramento river and drive through lush, verdant landscapes such as this.

Driving along some of the backroads of Sacramento Valley I came across this derelict lunch wagon.

Impassable Bridge

This is a disfunctional bridge. They have removed all of the wooden beams of the road bed and sealed it from traffic. The first step is a whopper.

This is Eureka Lake. up by Eureka Peak in the Sierras.

Lookout Tower

This is the Mills Peak lookout tower perched way high up on the rocks.

More Sand Paterns

Stone Arch

This house had a nice stone arch and, unfortunately, many more cracks similar to the one on this arch.

This is Anderson Creek, right before it merges with the Sacramento River.

Symmetrical Victorian House in Red Bluff

Victorian House in Red Bluff, CA. Red Bluff has a pretty nice set of of well-maintained Victorians. This is just one of them.

Sand Pattern

OK, ok... this is the last Sand Pattern.

After a long day of house hunting it is refreshing to see a structure like this.... not propped up by Realtor verbiage of "Good Bones" or "Handyman Special." It's just an old shed in the process of becoming one with the elements.

Mushroom

In the Oregon Woods you can come across one of these beauties... How come I expect it to start dancing?

Moseying about again... I had intended to head into the Northern parts of Quebec but once I arrived in Montreal, the Canadian weather informed me that only a fool would head up there in late October without a warm coat.

Goodness gracious! Am I doing techno now? Well I decided to write something that you could dance to... or maybe a little bit of head-bobbing. It gives me a chance to use robots in the cover art.

Imagine yourself walking down the street minding your own kind of business. Perhaps you are one of those who like to pull on their ear as they walk, or stroke the soft fur there. Perhaps you like to pause now and then and twitch your whiskers at everything.

I headed west into Manti-La Sal National Forest, there was a long, twisty route that was just about what I was looking for. Manti-La Sal National Forest, is a well-kept secret and the locals want to keep it that way. It offeres a wide variety of terrain from jush forests to arid canyon lands. One ot the swell bits is the Dark Canyon Wilderness, still a largely unexplored area.
A Utah Loop
Sep 05, 2016
The Distance from Blanding, Utah to Bluff Utah is only about 25 miles but if you plan carefully you can make it in 200. I had planned carefully... I had planned to be responsible, put in a day and and drive from Blanding to Torrey. After all The previous day I had driven 120 miles and landed 21 miles from my starting point... I needed to make "progress" gol darn it! and 175 miles farther down the road was furthering my cause. I was less than two blocks down the road when I saw a sign that read "Mexican Hat 50 miles."
Out of Gunnerson, CO
