Untitled-40

Sometimes, when writing a song the title arrives first. Coffee Time Rag is an example. Other times you work out a musical idea and a title comes along during the process.. Other times you get ideas... your draft them out, calling them something, anything simply because you want to get to the next thing.... A long time ago I would give them nonsense titles like "Krackenfever" or "Finstimere" ...

After that phase passed I just started labeling them "Untitled" I ended up with a lot of songs titled "Untitled." This can lead to some difficulty. you have a stack of "Untitled"s and you're looking for a specific one... Now I like wasting time as much as the next person but I feel that there are better ways to do it than shuffling through a bunch of tunes with the same name...   So I started numbering them ...I still have a bunch of un-numbered "Untitled"s but the new ones were getting numbers... sometimes the same number, but that is easily corrected.

Anyhow, this songs number came up to be finished... It started life as just a piano introduction and ended up as a piano quintet... go figure. And it still doesn't have name.
